Glossary (N-Z)

This is not an all inclusive list but rather terms commonly used within this community.

Nominal: Not inflation adjusted.  For example a 4% yield on a 10 year US Treasury is considered a nominal yield.  Assuming there is 1% inflation, the real yield would then be 3% which is an inflation adjusted yield.  The term nominal applies to GDP and other economic data points.

Non Farm Payrolls (NFP):  A monthly report issued by the US Bureau Of Labor Statistics that measures employment gains/losses in the labor market.

Primary Dealers: Banks and securities broker-dealers that trade in U.S. Government securities
