FOMC Minutes October, 2012
The FOMC minutes for the October two-day meeting were released and they had no real surprises. The full minutes are below as are a few key highlights.
A few members showed concern about rising inflation and the Fed’s ability to maintain control.
QE will likely be extended when Operation Twist ends in December.
The Fed is trying to determine if they should change language on ZIRP from calendar focused to economic data focused. In other words rates will rise as a function of a set date or an economic metric like unemployment.
