April 2011 Government Shutdown Averted
The national debt is $15 trillion. If you include off balance sheet items the national debt is $75 trillion (Bill Gross, PIMCO). In 2011 the budget deficit is forecast to be $1.6 trillion and considering the year is only half over by October, the national debt will be $16 trillion.
