Investor Psychology

I am on vacation this week with my family and therefore have scheduled a series of educational posts in place of the daily Morning Brief. After the close, though not immediately after, I will also post an abbreviated Market Recap. If you need to reach me via email, please pardon if I am slow in responding.

Each morning as I walk into my office to begin the trading day I realize that in many ways the biggest enemy I will confront that day is me. It is my ability or inability to control my emotions and to think objectively that will dictate how the day fairs. And I don’t necessarily mean from a profit or loss standpoint. I mean all aspects of the day. How do I react to go or bad news. How do I handle adversity. Do I think clearly and objectively or do I panic and overreact.
